Robotics, IoT and AI have led to increased competitiveness in the manufacturing sector, thanks to a significant commitment in terms of human, instrumental and financial resources.
The archetype of sustainability has played a key role in Procmatech's mission, through a strategic division into three macro sectors: economic, environmental, social. The business world has begun to move in this direction, paving the way for less structured entities. According to the data contained in the report "SUSTAINABILITY GOES MAINSTREAM - BlackRock Global Client Sustainable Investing Survey. July - September 2020", the major social and environmental issues will be the main areas on which innovation and growth will be measured. In particular, the report estimates that, globally, in the next five years, green environmental, social and governance investments, the so-called Esg (ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND GOVERNANCE), will double. It is no coincidence that curiosity in this regard rose by almost 150% in 2020 compared to the previous year and that of information on the sustainability of financial products by 141.5%.
The aforementioned Apulian SME recognizes the importance of promoting an inclusive and collaborative work environment. It invests significantly in the training and development of technicians, encouraging them to acquire specialized skills in their respective fields of application. Furthermore, it promotes a corporate culture that values diversity and innovation, directly stimulating creativity and well-being.
Every day, a team of over thirty professionals works synergistically to create the best solution for the customer: from design to assembly, all the interpreters are protagonists of the process. It is impossible to imagine a similar cohesive scenario without sustainable governance: from full (and never taken for granted) gender equality, to compliance with environmental policies. By paying the right attention to these dynamics, the creation of value is increased. Several areas in Procmatech have been designed for leisure, every extra-work moment spent on site is crucial in terms of quality of life: it is a responsibility that cannot be avoided. With patience and determination, social events are promoted, difficulties are shared and successes are celebrated. Being sustainable for the community implies particular attention to the entire production chain, so that it impacts the ecosystem as little as possible: being aware of the environmental impact is crucial, as is ensuring that it remains below certain values. It is essential to control the use of energy, with a wise choice of materials to be used in the process. Although the return is almost never immediate in this kind of operations, a tangible increase in trust among stakeholders has been found, which is essential for good teamwork. Shared value resides in the entire executive process (in products, customers, suppliers) but also in the institutions of the community in which the company is located. Companies realize that long-term success depends on the ability to satisfy the needs and expectations of all stakeholders, thus contributing to the well-being of society as a whole.
However, the critical issues should not be overlooked. One of the main ones is the requirement for significant and long-term investments, which may not be accessible to all companies or organizations. It is important to avoid short-termism: focusing more on short-term benefits rather than on the long-term impact of sustainability, especially when they are under pressure to deliver immediate financial results. This could limit the diffusion of sustainability in sectors or regions with limited financial resources. The resources to be dedicated to raising awareness and educating stakeholders on the potential of sustainable automation and the benefits it can bring to their business are considerable. Through collaborations and synergies with complementary companies, it is possible to expand one's scope of action and reach new national and international markets. The Procmatech team is convinced that a prosperous and sustainable economy can only be built on a basis of solidarity and collaboration between companies, institutions and communities.
The complex and ever-changing regulatory environment adds further challenges. Environmental and professional laws are becoming more stringent, imposing new requirements and standards on companies. Procmatech is proactive in ensuring regulatory compliance and constantly adapting its operating practices to respond to regulatory changes and market needs.
To date, the combination of DIGITAL REVOLUTION - TRANSITION 4.0 and NEW GREEN DEAL highlights the urgency of an intelligent use of resources, in order to guarantee a more equitable and inclusive social system, without forgetting its importance in business terms. Recognizing and integrating sustainability into decision-making processes and daily operations is an opportunity.
