Raffaele Barile has been elected new President of AIdAM – Associazione Italia di Automation Meccatronica, for the three-year period 2024-2027. From Puglia and co-founder of a company located in the province of Bari, Raffaele Barile firmly believes in associationism and wants to involve companies from the South more.
The Board of Directors AIdAM – Italian Association of Mechatronic Automation of May 22, 2024 elected the new President for the three-year period 2024-2027: it is Raffaele Barile , co-founder and Engineering Commercial Manager of Procmatech, a company that designs and manufactures special machines for the manufacturing industry. With forty years of experience in the industrial automation sector, Raffaele Barile began his career in technical roles and then developed professional skills that led him to approach the world of entrepreneurship. He was also President of the Apuliamech Consortium.
“Immediately after my studies – says Raffaele Barile – I began to deal with industrial electronics and software. I worked as a mechatronic designer for many years, until in 2001 I started my own business with my partner. Procmatech today has 35 people and makes special machines, exported all over the world. Our experience in AIdAM began in 2006, to date I am very enthusiastic about this new chapter of the association”. Raffaele Barile also confirmed Fernanda Vicenzi , CEO of PubliTec, as Treasurer, and chose Fabio Bottarelli , Head of Product Management of Camozzi Automation, as Vice-President.
Among the primary objectives of the new presidency there is a greater commitment to the meeting between companies in the sector for an active comparison on the common problems of automation and mechatronics, a stimulus to the promotion of innovative and sustainable industrial policies, an even more intense dialogue with other associations and, finally, the development of projects already underway in the internationalization and educational fields.
“I strongly believe in collaboration between companies that consider themselves competitors,” comments Raffaele Barile, “because they join forces and can tackle larger orders with greater serenity and tranquility . For example, in Germany the smallest companies have at least 150 employees; for Italian companies, which are on average much smaller, it is difficult to compete in a market like this. But if a group of companies – like those of AIdAM – created a temporary form of enterprise, they could become more competitive. Moreover, in terms of mechatronics know-how, we are second to none.”
Raffaele Barile will continue, as mentioned, the path traced in the past of collaborations with other associations (for example ANFIA), educational projects with the i.M2A Network and the Ministry, group exhibitions at trade fairs and internationalisation projects (such as Morocco and South Africa).
“We are all very grateful to the outgoing President Michele Merola who, with the excellent work done, has revived the fortunes of the Association after a very difficult period, bringing it today to boast more than 80 members – declares Raffaele Barile – My commitment will be above all aimed at involving other important companies in the sector that cannot fail to be part of an important association like AIdAM, with particular attention to the deserving companies of southern Italy ”.
The newly elected President, in fact, wants to involve more companies from the South, which in the past perhaps have not been given the necessary attention. “ I want to bring the association even more to the South – explains Raffaele Barile – I did it several years ago, when I proposed and obtained the organization of some of the itinerant Boards of Directors in Puglia. It was a great opportunity to make our territory known from an industrial point of view, showing the important and professionally valid realities present. I think it is my duty to try to break down the last territorial barriers in our profession”.
